About Me
My name is Edith Molina and I am the person who created all the little bears on this site.
My creative adventure started in 1985 when I bought a dolls magazine that included patterns. I enjoyed very much making the dolls from that magazine. I felt I had found a hobby! Next I tried my hand at making stuffed animals and started selling them to gift shops. The best seller was Ludy, a cute chubby monkey. In 1989 I saw an artist Teddy Bear for the first time and fell in love with it. I then added bears to my creations. They were not made from fancy Mohair but from fake fur. It was the only material available in Mexico to make stuffed toys.
Although there is no Teddy Bear tradition in Mexico people liked my bears. Who can resist the charm of a Teddy Bear?
In 1992 we moved to Canada and started using real fur instead of the plush material I used in Mexico. My favorite fur was mink from vintage coats.

In the early 2000s I found miniature crocheted bears on ebay and those tiny bears captured my heart! They were so tiny and detailed, and also fully jointed. They could pose any way you wanted. Head, arms and legs could move. I had to make one! After so many attempts I finished my first miniature crochet bear from thread.
To this day I have made lots of bears. Some now live in far away countries and some live with me. I now make the patterns of the bears I design for others to learn this wonderful art.
